In 1979, Marlene was adopted by her first English Setter - Ch. Ex All The Best (Tessa). They did obedience extensively but soon discovered the conformation ring and Tessa attained her Canadian championship.

For many years Tessa was Marlene's life and wonderful companion. In her later years, she adopted Bill and helped raise their two children, Melinda and Ken. Even as an older dog, her sweet and gentle mature shone through.

As the years went by, we knew we had to have another English Setter. We attended handling and puppy socialization classes and soon took interest in the show ring again.

One show led to another and before long, we were hooked. In 1989 DEVONSHIRE English Setters began when we acquired three quality puppy bitches:
Ch. Maldawn's Semalina Party Doll (Hannah)
BIS Am/Can Ch. Sevenoaks Devonshire Cream (Blossom)
BIS Am/Can Ch. Sevenoaks Raspberry Ripple (Ripple).

The three girls were shown at All Breed and Specialty Shows in Canada and the US. They won many puppy Sweepstakes, Groups, Best in Shows and English Setter Specialty awards. Their wins encouraged us to start our own breeding program which has resulted in many champions and loving pets.

All of our puppies come from healthy parents which are certified clear of hip dysplasia by OFA and are also certified BAER normal hearing

A puppy from Devonshire English Setters will be a wonderful companion and a part of your life for the next 10-15 plus years.
